- To maintain Fort Purbrook and restore and develop Fort Widley as
the Peter Ashley Activity Centres.
- To use the unique environment of these two 19th Century Victorian
Forts to provide an inclusive learning centre where people of all
ages can participate in a wide range of enjoyable and challenging
learning and leisure pursuits. This environment should challenge people’s
natural energies into constructive pursuits.
- To build the self confidence and esteem of young people, both from
the local areas of Portsmouth as well as visiting groups through participation
in a wide range of activities and learning opportunities.
- To offer activities and facilities to those at risk of disadvantage.
- To provide Centres open to all, offering equality of opportunity,
regardless of ethnic origin, religion or physical ability.
