The perfect place for schools and groups of all ages.

The Peter Ashley Activity Centres runs two sites for school and youth group visits at Fort Purbrook and Fort Widley. Each has its own special interests, activities and qualities and a number of our regular visitors use both sites.
Fort Purbrook on Portsdown Hill overlooks the City of Portsmouth and Langstone Harbour and the activity centre offers a range of outdoor and indoor activities from archer and rifle shooting to assault courses, climbing, initiative tests and team sports. Residential accommodation is available for up to 80 as well as parade ground for seasonal tented accommodation. The centre caters for both residential and day visits.

Fort Widley is located also on Portsdown hill and overlooks Portsmouth Harbour and the western side of the City. It boasts a fully licensed riding school - A.B.R.S registered and all instructors are BHS qualified. Facilities include an indoor riding school as well as an outdoor floodlit ménage. Fort Widely also holds one of Portsmouth Secrets, the Civil Defence Rooms!

Risk Assessment & Insurance
Our instructors are Nationally Qualified and First aid Trained. The Fort hold a Public Liability Insurance Policy for Five Million Pounds and all activities are subject to Risk Assessments and documents are available if required.
